I loved Nioh 1, Surge 1, SoP, and while I didn't beat it yet, I do like Hellpoint. So for me at least personally, I can still have much fun with a game in the genre that has a set protagonist. Granted in some games like Mortal Shell and Hellpoint, the "protagonist" may as well be like a skeleton as they don't have any real unique defining features.
I haven't played it but from my understanding is that the recently released Thymesia also doesn't have a custom protagonist. And the next Team Ninja game after Nioh 2, Wo Long, will also keep it's Custom Character protagonist.īut then you also gets games like Mortal Shell, Hellpoint, Jedi Fallen Order (If you count it), Strangers of Paradise, and the upcoming Lies of P, where you do get some visual customization in regards to armor changing appearances or just cosmetic outfits but otherwise you don't actually get to design the underlining characters. In Seal Beach, there are 8 comfortable months with high temperatures in the range of 70-85°.
You also have games like Remnant: From the Ashes, Salt & Sanctuary, Code Vein and so on that also had custom characters. The most pleasant months of the year for Seal Beach are October, June and July. However, every single one from Nioh 2, The Surge 2, and the recently announced The Lords of the Fallen all have Custom Characters. Lords of the Fallen, Nioh 1 and The Surge 1 all had set protagonists. However, not every game that has followed in the Souls-like genre has kept this.

So obviously with the origin game, Demon's Souls, there was already the element of playing as a Custom Character and outside of Skeiro, From Software games in the genre have all had a Custom Character for the player.
